My garden vs. Marie Selby Gardens. Was there really a chance?

In this post, I have published some beautiful blooms from my budding garden. I've also included some recent pictures from Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota, FL. Although the blooms are more stunning from the latter location, I still love what I've nurtured. Enjoy!

This a wildflower that I planted from seed in the winter. I have no idea what kind of flower it is, but it's cheery and sweet.
My dahlberg daisies always make me smile.
These petunias are annuals but have lasted longer than expected.
This is the first year my allamanda shrub has grown so many buds. I credit it to the fact that this is the first year I've given it any attention.
The azealas are gorgeous but have only bloomed once. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a second bloom.
The main reason why I love this begonia pot so much is that I got a pack of 18 on clearance for $1.25! Shows that tender loving care DOES make a difference.
This verbena (along with another) was also on clearance. I bought two hanging baskets for $1.00!
Seriously, what garden is complete without these special helpers?
Petunias are nice. I just wish they didn't require daily dead-heading.
Purple Triangularis Oxalis is my favorite plant. I will have to post a picture of it when it's opened it's leaves to greet the day.
I wasn't always a succulent fan, but portulaca won my heart at first sight.
For some reason, this portulaca doesn't want to bloom. It used to but hasn't in quite a while. No matter, I love the leaves. They're just as pretty.

Now time for Marie Selby's specimens:

Welcome
The Asian Festival at Marie Selby Gardens was such a treat!

Some of the kois were as big as my child!

This Tabebuia tree is gorgeous to behold in person.

Succulent garden

This Red Cotton Tree bloom was bigger than my hand!
Strangely, they looked small on the tree.

Does this bark look like elephant skin to you?

My M-I-L told me this shrub (name unknown) starts it's blooms white then turns purple with "age".

Wish I could afford a buddha this size for my garden. *sigh* Maybe one day. . .

My son showing me the Chinese Lion brochure.

This was one of my favorite plants. Too bad I couldn't get it's name.
 A perfect close-up.
I think this is a milkweed.

This was the best Lion Dance I've ever witnessed.
 Orchids abound in their greenhouse.
