Peace out!

I recently ordered this bobbing gnome for our front door. I love that he's jolly and advocates peace. The ebay seller was very accomodating when I informed her that the gnome came damaged. You don't see it in the picture, but there is a large chip missing from behind the nodding head. In any case, the seller was most accomodating and I am expecting a replacement (along with a couple of other gnomes) in the mail next week. Can't beat great customer service; especially when it's regarding an online purchase.

My central FL garden has not been taking the cold spells easily. I planted some snapdragons and wax begonias in hopes that it would handle the below 30 temps well. Though they survived, I can tell they're not happy. Maybe it's the soil rather than the temperature that is making them lag. I added plenty of compost to amend the clay/sandy soil. Next step is to aerate around the plants to see if they just need a little more leg room.

However, my container plants seem to be thriving. I've transplanted our bougainvilleas twice now and though they don't seem too thrilled about transplantation, they're still blooming. That's all I ask for.
